2. Choose company's name

There are regulations relating to the name you can choose for your business if you are setting up a company.

These are the characters and signs you can use:

・Japanese characters (hiragana, katakana, kanji)
・Roman-alphabet (A-Z, a-z)
・Arabic numerals (0-9)
・hyphen(-), and sign(&), period(.), comma (,),  apostrophe (’),heavy dot (・)

You can register the same company name as another company’s registered name unless the registered address for both companies is the same.

However, if the name you have chosen is the same or too similar to another company’s name or trademark you may have to change it if someone makes a complaint.

Your name must include either ‘Kabushiki-kaisha’ (It means KK) or ‘Goudou-Kaisha’ (It means GK)
